Starting at the small fishing village of Cabras, making our way up to Bosa, then back to Riola Sardo. During one week, we enjoyed the calmness of the Western coast of Sardinia.
Limòlo House
Between “Green Architecture” and “Sustainable Landscape”
In the historical centre of Cabras, at the heart of the Sinis peninsula, between the kingdom of the Giants of Monte Prama and the Phoenician settlement of Tharros, the famous quartz beaches of Is Arutas, Mari Ermi and the “treasure island” of Maldiventre, Limolo House awaits you for a unique holiday spent exploring one of the lesser known and most fascinating regions of Sardinia.
Six rooms, each with its own distinctive personality, overlook an internal courtyard, as is traditional in the local residences. Each is decorated with furnishings and materials that reflect the fishing village in which Limolo House is located. Here you can enjoy the simple life of the village with its typical light-hearted attitude, known locally as “sciollori”, or make Cabras your starting point for exploring the wonders of Sinis, its coasts and its hinterland.
Story of those tiles told y the owner of Limòlo House, Daniela: These tiles belong to a fairy tale about princes and princesses. It was the 70s and Prince Karim Aga Khan discovered the Costa Smeralda, inventing a fairy world of parties, nature, sea, sailing, all the kings and queens princes and reigning princesses of the time. Actors, singers, famous people. The world has disappeared, because everyone wanted to imitated it thinking that it was enough to have a lot of money, without being up to it. These tiles remain, some broken, just like that world. They belonged to the first hotels on the Costa Smeralda, Romazzino, Cala di Volpe. Today transformed, losing much of their charm. They are all hand painted.
Antica Dimora del Gruccione
Enjoy peace and quiet! Spend happy days, in a little village on an ancient island, in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea close to the earth and sky of its scenery.
The Antica Dimora del Gruccione is one of first ‘alberghi diffusi’ (dispersed hotels) in Italy; the heart of our dispersed hotel is an old family house, the “Antica Dimora del Gruccione“, which hosts three other buildings, the “Depandance“, “Sos Gelminos“, and “Sa Murighessa“.
Bosa
Bosa is a fabulous village where history and modernity come together generating curiosity and fascination.
The Old Village, also known as Sa Costa, lies around the Serravalle Castle, built by the Malaspinas between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. Easily accessible on foot, it will reward you by showing you the charm of the town from a scenic location that will remain forever in your memory.
Hotel Lucrezia
Hotel Lucrezia is an ancient country house recently restored and converted into a hotel. It is located in the heart of the Sinis peninsula, a few kilometers from Oristano and from many enchanted beaches.
Nothing in this house has been left to chance: the garden that welcomes you as you enter, the small cellar with the Vernaccia barrels, the eight double rooms with their amazing bathrooms. Every detail will make you feel the love, passion and care with which this place has been restored.
The whole building was and still is made of earth bricks (adobe), roofs are made with hand-woven canes and hand-made tiles. The building is an example of the typical architecture of the place, today rediscovered and studied for the healthiness and the environmental comfort that guarantees to those who stay here.
